     Another theory shot to hell, Rick.  Perhaps you could try a correlation analysis between letterboxing and pocket protectors.

Only the null hypothesis shot down...

Null Hypothesis: use of slide rules and letterboxing are independent.

To find that another letterboxer has a collection of slide rules, as
reported to me, shows that beyond any reasonable doubt, there *is* a
connection between letterboxing and slide rules.

Thanks to all for giving me a lot of grins across the last couple
days.

Now the real test... is it common enough that someone will (someday)
find the letterbox with the slipstick clues??
